Description of the Race:
With a blast of a cannon the 34th Annual WaunaFest Run begins at the Waunakee Village Park Gazebo! Join the fun and register early to save money and guarantee your race t-shirt. See why "Silent Sports" Magazine rates this run "one of the best in the area, where community participation and support still mean something." Enjoy a great race, awards, music, food, beer and a weekend of WaunaFest fun. What are the Registration fees?
10 Mile: $25 ($35 after July 15)
5K Run: $25 ($35 after July 15)
2 Mile Walk: $15 ($20 after July 15)

When does On-Line Registration Close?
On-line registration closes at 9:59 pm on July 26.
Note: you can register in person on Friday July 27 from 2-7pm or day of the race from 6-7:15am at the Village Center (see below for details).
Can I Register the Day of the Race?
Day of Registration starts at 6am at the Waunakee Village Center, 333 S Madison St.
What is a Timing Chip:
The 10 Mile Run and 5K events will be timed using the ChampionChip® timing system to ensure accurate timing. Results will be posted on-line day of the event. You may use your personal timing chip if you wish. Timing chips must be picked up at registration along with your bib number. Timing chips must be worn on your shoe. Do not place the timing chip on an ankle band. Timing chips do not need to be returned, and are recyclable.
What are the Awards and Age Divisions?
Medals awarded to the top male and female 5K First Place Finisher, First Waunakee Finisher, and Fastest 18 & Under. Medals awarded to the top three overall male and female 5K finishers. Medals awarded to the top male and female 10 Mile First Place Finisher, First Waunakee Finisher, and Fastest 18 & Under. Medals awarded to the top two male and female finishers in each 10 Mile Run age division. Age Divisions: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over.
Where does the Race Start and End?
The race will start at the Waunakee Village Park Gazebo on the corner of Highway 19 (Main Street) and Division Street. The race ends in the scenic Waunakee Village Park. Maps of the race routes will soon be posted on this site.
Is there Early Packet Pick-Up and On-Site Race Registration? YES!
Pre-registered participants may pick up their bib number and timing chip at the Village Center on Friday July 27 from 2-7pm. On-Site registration will also be available on Friday. The Village Center is adjacent to Village Park.
Same Day Race Registration and Packet Pick-Up:
Race day registration and packet pick-up will be held in the lower level of the Village Center (333 S Madison Street) from 6-7:15 am. Race shirt not guaranteed after July 15.
Can I get a Refund?
No refunds will be issued. The event will occur regardless of weather. Registrations can be reassigned to a runner with advance notice.
Are Dogs or Strollers Permitted?
Pets are not permitted (however service animals are allowed). Strollers are permitted however please stay to the back and be mindful to allow the other runners to pass safely. This is a family friendly event!
Who Sponsors WaunaFest Run?
The WaunaFest Run is sponsored by the Waunakee/Westport Chamber of Commerce with TDS Telecom as the presenting sponsor. Check the website for our additional sponsors and all are included on the back of our Race shirts. Proceeds support Chamber programs and projects that enhance economic development and community partnerships. The Run is a traditional part of the WaunaFest Weekend community celebration, and the Chamber is excited to be a part of this great event! Where can I get details about the WaunaFest Weekend?
Waunakee's annual summer festival runs from Thursday, July 26 through Sunday, July 29. Be sure to stop by the "This Bud's for You" fun and sporty Chamber Beer Garden tent at WaunaFest to enjoy an ice cold beverage and watch the softball games. WaunaFest also includes a carnival, fireworks, entertainment tent, softball, soccer and volleyball tournaments, teen dance, pony rides, petting zoo, Saturday craft fair, food court and a Sunday parade.
